SERVICE AND LEARNING PERIODS

Basic Program (Two weeks)

Volunteer participants with limited vacation or free time, or tight schedules, can choose our basic program.  Two week projects are available in Education, Healthcare and Buddhist Cultural Traditions.  The program fee covers almost all in-country expenses, less personal items, during the project time.

Core Program (Three weeks)

Volunteer participants have the opportunity to participate in three weeks of project activities.   Project areas include; Education, Healthcare and Buddhist Cultural Traditions

Extended Programs (Six weeks)

An extended program placement can be the ideal opportunity –the more you put into it the more you get out of it.  Extended program participants have more flexibility to guide their own work, assume positions of greater responsibility and build a greater appreciation for the supported people and culture.  Participants should be independent, self motivated, proactive, and able to accommodate and compromise easily.  TSC Team members can assist in designing their own work through the use of their talents, knowledge, skills and expertise.

Internships (9 weeks or longer)

During internships team members participate in a nine week program, or longer. Internships are offered each month beginning with any published program start date. TSC Internships are designed for students who are interested in receiving a deeper and more broadening learning experience in Healthcare, Buddhism, HIV/AIDs and Education. Participation in a Internships will strengthen your cross-cultural communications skills, while you will learn directly (one-on-one) from professionals in a professional setting. TSC will work with you to ensure that your individual goals are met and that through your contribution the needs of the community will be helped.
